Getting Out - Volunteer Teams
Since we embrace that others matter, we will serve others' needs before our own. Anyone can find a place to volunteer. A big part of our time is spent equipping and training people as the Bible teaches us:
"He handed out gifts above and below, filled heaven with his gifts, filled earth with his gifts. He handed out gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist, and pastor-teacher to train Christ's followers in skilled servant work, working within Christ's body, the church, until we're all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God's Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, fully alive like Christ." - Ephesians 4:11-12

3. New Neighbors Outreach
Just over one hundred new families move into our community every month. People are more open to try a church and meet new friends during transition. Every month we welcome our new neighbors by giving them a gift bag that includes fresh dessert or bread.
4. Sam Ministries
Once a month, we help the homeless by checking in families at the emergency shelter or caring for their kids while mom and dad get training. Go to their website, fill out the background check, and give back.

5. Daily Bread Ministries
Daily Bread Ministries is located in the poorest area of Texas - downtown San Antonio. They give food to ministries that provide food to needy families. Join us once a month to help distribute food in the warehouse and pray for these ministries.
Church
Statistics prove that if a person comes to church, but doesn’t find their fit in a volunteer role or a small group, they quit church in one year. There has to be one area that interests you to get involved. Don’t be a stat.
1. Guest Services Team
The only thing required to be on this team is a desire to help people. All teams will be set up on a two month rotation to allow you to take a break or serve in other areas. By arriving thirty minutes before service begins, you let everyone know they matter.
-Parking – You are our first impression to people as you help greet people and help them find a place to park. We know waiting in traffic is never fun
-Greeters – You are available to welcome people and help guests find their way around.
-Info Table – You will provide important information on volunteer teams, fellowship teams, and events.
-Coffee and breakfast – Keeping the coffee containers and plates full are as important as keeping the area well stocked and clean.
-Ushers – Helping people find a seat, serving communion, and helping to receive the offering make this area so important.
-Follow up – By entering in important information into our database system, you play a vital role in letting guest now that their presence was important.

4. Gateway Kidz Team
If you love to play with kids and love God, this may be your fit. Because safety is a priority with us, all volunteers that help with minors are required to take a risk management class and complete a background check.
-Early Childhood (birth – pre-K)
We teach preschoolers to know about God through songs, crafts, and creative small group lessons.
-KidzRock Elementary (K-5th)
Kids will have fun, learn one big idea about God, and meet a few friends every week. There are opportunities to help with the performance, small groups, and tech.
World
Africa
Our vision is to invest in God's kingdom in Africa while we do the same in our community. We are partnering with friend and missionary Scott Hanson to plant a church in Tanzania. The work has already begun! God will take care of what is on our heart when we take care of what is on his.
